SynopsisThis dramatic recreation of a failed bank heist was filmed in the original locations where the true-life event occurred, and was cast with the actual policemen, bank customers and area residents who were involved in the affair, giving the production an intense and gritty realism. Steve McQueen stars as George Fowler, an expelled college football hero who joins a hurriedly formed gang of ex-convicts. Though carefully planned by the leader of the would-be bank robbers, personal jealousies and frustrations among the four men result in the doomed operation.
